When I moved to Paris years ago, it was with a short fro after going natural. I’m a native of Miami, a city where any variety of extensions you could possibly want is easy to find. Like any average woman, I wanted to switch up my hairstyle so I began looking for versatile extensions that would suit my 4C hair texture. I realized quickly my options were ridiculously limited.
Between having to deal with the harassing selling tactics on rue Strasbourg by aggressive shop employees to the lack of options on EU hair websites, I got fed up. What if I don’t want to wear the classic silky straight hair? Why is a region filled with women that have curly to kinky hair, having to settle with either terrible customer service and/or a lack of forward thinking products to choose from?
I created Dame Rebel to fill this gap and to empower women in their natural hair care journey. Using my MBA diploma and over 10 years of experience in product development/marketing, this space is aimed to provide a curated range of products for every budget. In particular, items that either mimic natural hair textures or compliment them.
For all the kinky/curly Dames like me, our hair extension needs deserve to be heard. As Dame Rebel expands, it aims to hear them. Let's shake up the status quo.
After all, change rarely happens unless we all have a bit of rebel in us… ;)
